ICAR 2026 - Poster Formatting

International Conference on Aeolian Research (ICAR XII)

12 - 18 July 2026, Swakopmund, Namibia

Poster presentation format

All posters should be formatted for PORTRAIT presentation at a maximum size of A0 (841 x 1189 mm). Posters will be stuck to hard boards using ‘blu-tack’ (provided) and it may be beneficial for posters to be non-laminated to aid in keeping them flat against the board.

 

Poster display

Posters will be displayed in the Lecture theatre of the Swakopmund Museum, c. 150 m walk east from the Strand Hotel. Please use the back entrance of the Museum to enter the Lecture Theatre, as shown below. Note that outside of the timed poster sessions the posters will be available for public viewing as part of the Museum exhibit.

Posters in each session will be displayed for two days with presenters anticipated to be available to discuss their posters as indicated, although presenters can extend or adapt this time as necessary:

Poster set-up and take-down

Delegates should register for the conference in the Strand Hotel Conference Centre prior to setting up posters in the Swakopmund Museum Lecture Theatre. Delegates will be notified of which board to set-up their posters on arrival at the Museum Lecture Theatre.

Posters to be displayed on Monday and Tuesday should be set-up for display in the Museum on Sunday (14.00-17.00), Monday morning (08.00-08.30), or at the very start of the poster session on Monday (11.00). All posters displayed on Monday and Tuesday should be removed from boards before 17.00 on Tuesday.

Posters to be displayed on Thursday and Friday should be set-up for display in the Museum on Thursday morning (08.00-08.30), or at the very start of the poster session on Thursday (11.00). All posters displayed on Thursday and Friday should be removed from boards before 13.30 on Friday.
