Arriving delegates

Pre-registered delegates should collect their name badges and delegate materials for the conference at the Stand Hotel situated near the beach on the west side of the main centre of Swakopmund. The lighthouse lies just to the east of the hotel and acts as a useful marker.

Collection of delegate materials will be available at the following times in the foyer of the Strand Hotel Conference Centre, accessed from the east side of the main hotel plaza.

Sunday 12th July:         14.00-17.00

Monday 13th July:        08.00-08.30

Tuesday 14th July:        08.00-08.30

Thursday 16th July:      08.00-08.30

Friday 17th July:            08.00-08.30

Powerpoint files for oral presentation should also be uploaded at these times and, once name badges have been collected, delegates may also put up their posters in the Swakopmund Museum. Please see the information regarding oral presentation formatting  and poster formatting.

Delegates should wear their name badges at all times when undertaking conference activities.

Conference locations

An overview of the schedule of oral and poster presentations is available here.  All oral sessions will take place in the Conference Centre of the Strand Hotel whilst poster sessions will take place in the Lecture theatre of the Swakopmund Museum, c. 150 m walk east from the Strand Hotel. Please use the back entrance of the Museum to enter the Lecture Theatre, as shown below. Registered delegates receive free entry to the Museum for the duration of ICAR.
