Dr Chloë Strevens is interviewed by student Raphaella Mascia on her journey from growing up on her family's farm in Ireland to becoming an ecologist and Course Director of Oxford University's Biodiversity, Conservation, and Management master's programme.

A new report, published in Nature, identifies two key areas for action to stop global biodiversity loss and 'bend the curve' towards recovery by 2050 or earlier - without jeopardising the achievement of other Sustainable Development Goals. The study calls for bold conservation and restoration efforts, alongside a transformation of the global food system. It forms a core part of WWF's Living Planet Report 2020, and authors include Michael Obersteiner, Director of the ECI.

From September 2020 Michael Obersteiner will become Director of the Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford. Yadvinder Malhi, Professor of Ecosystem Sciences at the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford, has been awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List, announced on 10th October 2020, for services to Ecosystem Science.
