In a recent interview with T La Revue the French business newspaper La Tribune's magazine, Kevin Grecksch, Departmental Lecturer and Course Director for the MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management, stressed the notion that people in developed countries have lost touch with water.

Water is readily available, relatively 'cheap' and people usually don't know where it's coming from nor do they care or know about the value of water". Hence, people need to reconnect with water learning about its origin and the true value of water.

The interview also touched upon the fact that there is no agreed definition of what the value of water is and the role of international organisations in defining it. However, given the weakness of international organisations any attempt to define the value of water would largely remain symbolic though.
