Understanding cycling infrastructure and practice in Shenzhen, China

Academic Profile

Eric is a first-year DPhil student at the Transport Studies Unit. He has recently completed an M.Phil. in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance at the University of Oxford, with a dissertation focusing on dockless bicycle sharing in Shenzhen, China. He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Geography from University of Hong Kong. Previously, he has worked as an urban researcher in mainland China and Hong Kong. His doctoral research at TSU will focus on the changing provision of cycling infrastructure in Shenzhen, China and seeks to understand how the experiences of cyclists interact with top-down design and provision of cycling infrastructure.
