What lies beneath? Transdisciplinary ways of knowing seafloor-to-surface geographies
Academic Profile
Joe is a DPhil candidate who uses participatory mapping to reveal plural knowledges for marine and coastal planning accounting for social and ecological dimensions. He is part of the Oxford Seascape Ecology Lab and a member of St John's College. His research interests include: seascape ecology, participatory mapping and environmental knowledges. For more on his 'Meadows, Memories, and Missing Layers' work in Sanday, Orkney, please see https://linktr.ee/seagrassSES
Prior to this PhD, Joe worked across several departments of the university on short-term contracts, following an MSc at SoGE 2022-3. Before this, he working in outdoor learning and nature engagement, primarily in Scotland.
