    Academic Profile

    Richard is an archaeologist and geographer working on the conservation of built heritage and landscapes. He is a member of Landscape Dynamics Research Cluster and the Oxford Resilient Buildings and Landscapes lab and is currently employed on the Getty Trust funded Built Heritage Research project, and the EPSRC Impact Accelerator Award funded project "Bridging the Gap: An online toolkit to help conservation professionals evaluate treatments for historic sandstone".

    In addition to these research projects, Richard teaches at both undergraduate and graduate level and carries out commercial archaeological and heritage conservation projects, with particular interest in use of natural materials in conservation practice, and image-based rendering of sites and monuments.
