Academic Profile

John Lynch is a climate and environmental scientist with a particular interest in agricultural sustainability assessment. He has a BA Natural Sciences (University of Cambridge), MSc Applied Ecology and Conservation (University of East Anglia) and Life Sciences PhD (University of Warwick).

Current Research

John is based in the Nature-based Solutions Initiative (Department of Biology) where he is a postdoctoral researcher exploring the broader impacts of greenhouse gas removal, as part of CO2RE – the Greenhouse Gas Removal Hub. He also leads a 'mini-sprint' project on environmental decision making in the context of uncertain habitat emissions and removals through the Agile Initiative at the Oxford Martin School, and is an Oxford Net Zero associate.

Teaching

John Lynch contributes to physical geography teaching at Mansfield College, covering a range of topics through classes, tutorials and project supervision. He previously taught at St Catherine’s College.
