Celeste Sarra is Head of Development for the School of Geography and the Environment. She brings over 15 years of experience at the intersection of philanthropy and conservation as both a grant-maker and a fundraiser, and has secured more than £11 million in support for environmental research, community-based conservation, and youth environmental education.
She has served in a volunteer capacity for several freshwater organisations, including as a trustee of Ontario Streams and a member of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s Don Watershed Regeneration Council. In 2011, she was the Canadian youth delegate to the British Council and United Nations Environment Programme-led Arctic climate change training expedition in Svalbard.
Celeste holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from Queen’s University, was part of the inaugural cohort of the Conservation Leadership program with Ivey Executive Education at Western University, and a policy fellow with the University of Guelph Policy Fellowship in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management.
