For another successive year, the University of Oxford's School of Geography and the Environment has secured the No. 1 position in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. This prestigious ranking highlights the School's commitment to academic excellence, innovative research, and impactful global contributions.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject are highly regarded in the academic community, assessing institutions on academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact. This year’s QS World University Rankings features over 1,500 institutions and is the only ranking of its kind to emphasise employability and sustainability. The School's top ranking reflects its outstanding performance across these important metrics.
Professor Giles Wiggs, Head of the School of Geography and the Environment, expressed his pride and gratitude, stating:
“I am delighted that the School of Geography and the Environment has once again topped the QS World University rankings for Geography. This accolade, achieved for the 15th successive year, is an enduring testament to the commitment and talent of all academic, research and professional services staff across the entire School. It is a fitting recognition of the SoGE community of which I am proud to be a part.”
The University of Oxford remains a beacon of learning and research, continually striving to shape a sustainable and equitable future through cutting-edge geographical and environmental scholarship.
