Academic Profile
Thijs Ter Horst is a doctoral student who joined the OPSIS group at ECI and Complexity Economics group at INET in October 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Jim Hall and Dr François Lafond. His research focuses on quantifying the impacts of natural disasters on supply chains and critical transportation infrastructures.
Thijs brings a multidisciplinary background to his work. He holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Econometrics and Operational Research and in Economics and Business Economics, both earned with cum laude honours from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 2024, he graduated with distinction from the MSc in Statistical Science programme at the University of Oxford.
