Understanding the distribution and drivers of Lyme disease in the United Kingdom

Academic Profile

Sam is a DPhil student interested in human health in the Anthropocene, particularly the evolving risk posed by vector-borne diseases. His DPhil work focusses specifically on understanding the spatial epidemiology of Lyme disease in the UK, including its current geographic distribution and drivers, and future risk under various environmental change scenarios.

Sam holds a BA in Geography and an MPhil in Population Health Sciences (Infectious Diseases) from the University of Cambridge. In addition to his DPhil, he also serves as an Editor for Routes: The Journal for Student Geographers. Sam is funded by a Clarendon Fund and St Edmund Hall Scholarship.
