Gendered Mobilities and Platform-based Transport Services in Lahore, Pakistan

Maryam is a final-year DPhil candidate at the Transport Studies Unit. She holds an MSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh and an undergraduate degree in Architecture from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan. Previously, she worked as an architect, visual researcher, and documentarian in Pakistan and the Gulf. Her doctoral research at the TSU focuses on the gendering of opportunities, exclusions, and inequalities facilitated by the representation, provision, and experience of different platform-based transport services in Lahore, Pakistan. She employs a mixed-method approach to her empirical work, including visual media, and go-alongs. Her work broadly sits at the intersections of mobilities scholarship, urban studies, and feminist geographies.
