Assessing the role of transport projects in influencing accessibility and gentrification in London

Academic Profile

Kai is a part-time DPhil student in the TSU and at St Hilda’s College, researching the relationship between accessibility, housing and gentrification in response to transport interventions in urban areas. Before joining the TSU, Kai completed a BSc in Population and Geography at the University of Southampton, where he researched the role the built environment and transport play in fertility changes. He followed this with an MSc in Transport and City Planning at UCL. He also has experience in transport planning professionally, having worked in consultancy on masterplans and developments in the UK and around the world, and currently works in the public sector, leading and contributing to projects to improve the rail network in London and is a member of the TPS.
