Understanding the mechanisms of rainfall onset in Southern Africa
Academic Profile
Eoin is a DPhil student working in the climate lab, researching the Southern African climate system. His doctoral study utilises model, reanalysis, and observational data from field projects including KAPEX and DRYCAB to understand the mechanisms behind the onset of the region's rainy season, with implications for sectors including agriculture, health, and energy production.
Eoin holds a BA in Geography from Keble College, Oxford, and an MSc in Applied Meteorology and Climate from the University of Reading. His doctoral studies are supported by the Hale-SoGE Scholarship in Physical Geography, funded by Christ Church College and the School of Geography and the Environment.
