The Water Mindset Project. A social Psychology of Water Quality
Academic Profile
Claudia is a DPhil candidate in Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford. Her research examines how everyday wash and flush practices, linked to the use of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), affect water quality and how these dynamics are addressed in policy and public awareness. Her work applies the Core Social Motives framework alongside affective and practice-based notions of water literacy to explore how social motives shape polluting practices and how these insights can inform policy design. Situated within the context of Germany’s National Water Strategy, her project investigates how initiatives on water awareness and urban water management can integrate relational and cultural perspectives.
Before beginning her DPhil, Claudia worked in sustainable finance at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She holds an MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management from the University of Oxford.
