Atmospheric Drylines in Southern Africa

Academic Profile

Alice is a DPhil student in the Climate Lab. Her research focusses on understanding the Kalahari Discontinuity which is an atmospheric dryline and a notable feature of southern African climate. This work forms part of broader efforts to understand projected drying trends in the region in the face of large model uncertainty. Her research draws on several datasets including reanalysis products and observations. To collect these in-situ observations, she has participated in several field campaigns including KAPEX2 and DRY-CAB.

Alice is a student on the NERC DTP in Environmental Sciences and holds a BA in Geography from the University of Oxford. She is also a tutor at Regent’s Park College where she teaches Physical Geography modules as part of the undergraduate Geography course.
