2002 to July 2005
ADAPTIVE is a collaborative
research project investigating how vulnerable societies in Southern Africa will
adapt to climate change and how successful adaptations can be facilitated. The
project will enhance emerging theoretical insights on the role of adaptive capacity
and future policy and intervention responses aiming to improve the adaptive capacity
of resource-dependent communities. The research is being conducted by a team of
interdisciplinary researchers and funded by the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change
Research.
