Ruksana Rimi

220 new students arrived at the School this term to begin their studies in Geography related disciplines. Of these, 100 are graduate students spread across the four master's courses and 36 new doctoral students. Like all our students, the new DPhil students come from a range of backgrounds and cultures, which are spread across 20 nationalities. Many of our students have received prestigious scholarships, including those from NERC, ESRC, Clarendon Awards and from the European Research Council.

Included in the new intake is Ruksana Rimi, who arrived in Oxford from her home country, Bangladesh, thanks to a prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship. She will study climate change and high-impact weather events, and specifically she will examine the implications for water resource and agriculture in Bangladesh.
