Eric Knight is a D.Phil. Candidate in Economic Geography at the School of Geography and the Environment as an Australian Rhodes Scholar.

He is an admitted solicitor and has worked for international law firm Baker & McKenzie in their climate change and carbon team. His doctoral research is focused on the intersection between corporate finance and climate change. This research has implications for capital flows into infrastructure and private equity investments in the energy, waste and agribusiness sectors, as well as the optimal mix of fiscal policies required to attract in-country investment in clean technologies.

Concurrent but separate to the D.Phil. Eric has been an independent economics consultant with the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and in political office in Australia. He has worked in the investment management team of a leading European private equity firm.
