Current Research Project

Human settlements in oases date back over several millennia. Their survival is attributed to their social and ecological resilience and efficient use of natural resources. This study will examine the use of science to support policies for the environmental management of settlement in arid environments in Egypt and Tunisia in order to identify lessons that can be transferred to other areas where water resources are scarce and under threat from climatic change.
